Spokane, WA — The Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) has elected Clallam County Commissioner Mark Ozias as its new President during the 2025 WSAC Membership Meeting. Commissioner Ozias, now in his third term representing Clallam County, has served on WSAC’s Executive Team for the past two years, first as 2nd Vice President and then as 1st Vice President. As the Association’s 119th President, he will help guide WSAC’s strategic direction and advance statewide efforts to support and empower county governments.
The announcement capped another successful County Leaders Conference, which brought more than 300 county officials, staff, and partners to Spokane County for three days of learning, collaboration, and practical skill-building. Attendees engaged in sessions on the future of public defense, long-range strategic planning, crisis communications, and effective leadership during challenging conversations. This year’s theme, “Voices of Impact,” highlighted the need for strong, informed county leadership to navigate complex issues and improve outcomes for Washington’s communities.
Under President Ozias’ leadership, WSAC will continue its work to elevate county voices, strengthen intergovernmental partnerships, and support counties in developing forward-looking policies that address statewide challenges.
WSAC members also elected a slate of new Executive Officers who will help drive this work in the year ahead:
The newly elected leadership team will work together to expand member engagement, advance legislative priorities, and support counties in delivering essential services to Washington residents.
