Join us for the WSALPHO Annual Public Health Workforce Retreat!

Join us at the Marcus Whitman in Walla Walla for our annual retreat, which aims to build the capacity and performance of our local public health workforce.
This year’s retreat focus is on integrating quality improvement (QI) and performance management concepts into local health operations. Learn key concepts and practices using QI techniques to inform your agency operations, increase accountability and transparency, and improve education and communication about local health.
We’ll also dedicate time for peer connection and sharing practices local agencies are adopting as federal, state, and local changes take place. We hope this time continues to be beneficial in supporting your agency’s professional growth and fostering connections within the local public health system.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This retreat is best suited to LHJ leadership (including directors, health officers, administrators, and division supervisors) and staff working on QI and performance management.
HOTEL RESERVATION PROCEDURE
WSALPHO will arrange hotel accommodations for all attendees directly with the hotel, using the name provided on your registration form. The hotel will email attendees their room confirmations the week of April 14, 2025 (check spam box).
Reservations are available for the nights of 5/12, 5/13, and 5/14.
Attendees must communicate any changes to their reserved dates to WSALPHO.
Provide a credit card at check-in for incidentals.
No block codes: If you book directly with the hotel, you will be responsible for the full cost at the standard rate.
EVENT COST
For WSALPHO members, the following costs are covered:
Lodging (on the nights of 5/12, 5/13, and 5/14.)
Provided Meals: Lunch on Day 1, breakfast and lunch on Day 2, and breakfast on Day 3.
Costs Not Covered
Attendees are responsible for:
Travel expenses
Parking fees
Any additional meals or personal expenses.
Non-wsalpho members and partners are responsible for registration fees, lodging cost and any additional travel expenses.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All room cancellations after April 14, 2025, must be done through direct contact with the hotel.
Cancellations within 48 hours of arrival: A cancellation fee and applicable taxes will be charged by WSALPHO.
No-shows: Attendees will be billed by WSALPHO for the full reservation cost and fees.
Late arrivals (after 1:00 AM PST the day after check-in): Considered no-shows.
Changes to reservations within 48 hours of arrival that shorten the stay will incur a fee for each canceled night.
Non-Members/Partner Cancellation Policy: The above policy will apply to hotel rooms reservations prior to date of arrival. The registration fee cancellation policy is as follows: Cancel registration by April 28 (100% registration fee refund), cancel registration between April 29 - May 9 (50% registration fee refund), and cancel registration after May 9 (Registration fee non-refundable). Cancellations must be done by emailing Nia Watkins at nwatkins@wsac.org.
PARKING
Hotel parking is complimentary. Limited Tesla charging stations are available (no regular charging available). Additional charging stations are available at the Walla Walla Community College at 500 Tausick Way, Walla Walla, WA 99362 (4 miles from the hotel).
AGENDA
The agenda will be shared and uploaded early April. Planned schedule will be starting at noon on Tuesday May 13, all day Wednesday May 14, and end by noon on Thursday May 15.

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration by contacting Nia Watkins at nwatkins@wsac.org. Cancel hotel reservation directly with the hotel after April 14, 2025.
