Come Join Us in Spokane for the 2026 WSALPHO Annual Summer Meeting

This year’s Annual Summer Meeting will take place at the Historic Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA, June 2-4, 2026. The event will center on the theme of strength and unity with our local communities. Over three days, attendees will participate in committee meetings, leadership breakouts, a general member meeting, peer-led sessions, and presentations from guest speakers representing state agencies and policy leadership. The meeting will also offer intentional networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and shared learning.

Join us for engaging discussions, fresh perspectives, and the opportunity to strengthen connections with fellow public health professionals and local partners as we come together to build collective impact.

LHJ Spotlight Session Opportunity

Learning from one another is a highlight of the Summer Meeting, and LHJs are invited to lead LHJ spotlight sessions again this year. If you’re interested in sharing programs, lessons learned, or practical approaches from your agency, please complete this interest form by March 16, 2025.

Who Should Attend The Annual Summer Meeting

We encourage local health jurisdiction staff who are involved in WSALPHO committees and meetings, LHJ leadership, and other staff interested in getting more involved in WSALPHO to attend.  We will have public health partners and additional guests in attendance as well.

WSALPHO Members: An optional justification letter template is available on Box.com to support your internal approval process.

Event Cost   

For WSALPHO members, the following costs are covered:

• Registration fees
• Hotel room & tax through the WSALPHO room block on the nights of Monday June 1, Tuesday June 2, and Wednesday June 3 (based on availability.) Hotel rooms are first come first serve.
• Provided Meals: Lunch on Tuesday, breakfast and lunch on Wednesday, and breakfast on Thursday.
• An example of a WSALPHO member is a staff member employed by a Local Health Jurisdiction.

WSALPHO Members are responsible for the following expenses:

• Hotel rooms booked outside of the WSALPHO room block.
• Travel expenses (ex. mileage, additional meals, etc)
• Parking fees 
• Hotel fees associated with late cancellations, adjustments to room dates within cancellation window, pet fee, incidentials, etc.

Non-WSALPHO members and partners are responsible for:

• Registration fees ($400). See section "Event Registration Cancellation Policy" below.
• Lodging costs ($189.97 a night which includes fees & taxes).
• Travel expenses (ex. Mileage, additional meals, etc).
• An example of a non-WSALPHO member includes, government agencies such as Department of Health, State Board of Health, etc. 

Hotel Reservation Procedure

• Hotel rooms must be booked under the wsalpho room block. 
• Hotels rooms cannot be booked through the website. 
• To book a hotel room through the wsalpho room block call one of the numbers listed below.
  1. Make sure to reference WSALPHO or Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officials room block when booking. 
  2. (509) 598-4554 direct reservation booking line at Historic Davenport, open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  3. (509) 455-8888, ask to be directed to Historic Davenport Reservations. 
  4. Hotel rooms are available on the nights of Monday June 1, Tuesday June 2, and Wednesday June 3. Nights are limited on Monday, June 1. 
  5. The hotel requires each attendee to place a credit card on file to hold a room. 

Parking

• Attendee's receive a 5% discount off of parking. Prices are subject to change.

• Self-Parking Rates:

  • 1-4 hours: $8.00
  • Each additional hour after 4 hours: $2.00 each 
  • Overnight: $28.00
• Valet Rates:
  • Event Valet: $28.00
  • Overnight Valet: $35.00
• Electric Car Charging Station
• Car charging available with cost of valet service (upon availability).
• The Davenport Hotel and Tower self-park garage is located on the corner of Post and 1st Street, and the valet garage is located off Post Street at the main entrance. 

Event Registration Cancellation Policy 

• The event registration cancellation policy relates to non-WSALPHO members and partners $400 registration fee. 
• To cancel event registration and receive a refund, you must email Nia at nwatkins@wsac.org within the cancellation window.
• Request Refund By:
  • By May 9: 100% refund
  • Between May 10 and May 16 : 75% refund
  • Between May 17 and May 24: 50% refund
  • After May 24: No refund

Hotel Cancellation Policy

• You can cancel hotel reservations without a fee up to 48 hours prior to arrival by going through the Marriott bonvoy app (if you linked your reservation) or by calling the hotel directly at (509) 598-4554 or (509) 455-8888 and ask to direct calls to reservations. 
• Late cancellations: 
  • Attendees will be billed directly by The Historic Davenport Hotel for cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to arrival. Changes to reservations within 48 hours of arrival that shorten the stay are considered a "cancellation" according to hotel policy. 
• No-shows:
  • Attendees will be billed directly by The Historic Davenport Hotel for a no show fee. Late arrivals (after 1:00 AM PST the day after check-in) are considered no-shows according to hotel policy.
