Join us for a Regional Motivational Interviewing training for LHJ leaders and staff!

WSALPHO is partnering with Grant County Health District to host a Motivational Interviewing (MI) training tailored to the needs of local public health leaders and staff.

Attendees will learn what MI is and how it works before practicing basic MI techniques to help support others in making behavior changes. Jonnae Tillman, PMHNP, DNP, a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), will lead the training.

Who Should Attend

The training is provided at no cost to staff at local health jurisdictions (WSALPHO members). While the training may be of particular interest to leadership, programmatic staff, and those working closely with clients/customers, all staff may find it helpful to communicate with and support community members. Please note that spots are limited.

Schedule & Location

This is an in-person MI training. WSALPHO will provide lunch.

• Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM PST
• Where: Moses Lake Recreation Center -- 610 Yakima Ave, Cascade room, Moses Lake, WA 98837
• Registration closes September 6, 2024, at 4:30 PM PST. (Updated).

• Please also mark your calendars for two virtual follow-up trainings on November 5, 2024, from 1 to 3 p.m. and January 21, 2024, from 9 to 11 a.m. We will follow up with an invite and Zoom link at a later date.   

Travel & Event Cost

WSALPHO will cover training costs and lunch for LHJ staff participating in the MI training. You are responsible for covering your costs for travel, lodging, additional meals, etc.
