Join us for WSALPHO’s first Learning Symposium of 2025!

Starting in 2025, WSALPHO will offer quarterly Learning Symposiums. Each symposium will feature a different theme based on the top training needs identified by members. These Learning Symposiums will provide a space for individuals working at LHJs across the state to learn from and with each other. 

This will be the first symposium of 2025 and will focus on Program Planning and Evaluation. Attendees will attend general sessions that introduce the fundamentals of program planning, like community engagement, logic models, and evaluation strategies. Breakout sessions will complement general sessions by providing opportunities for attendees to network, apply new learnings, and explore other public health topics.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This Learning Symposium is designed for early-career and entry-level staff, specifically those with five or fewer years of experience in public health. The symposium will cover foundational topics in Program Planning and Evaluation, as well as other topics identified as useful for LHJ staff new to their roles in local public health. More experienced staff and leaders may not find the content as relevant to their needs.

HOTEL RESERVATION PROCEDURE

• WSALPHO will arrange hotel accommodation for all attendees directly with the hotel. The Marriott will email attendees their room confirmations after February 10, 2025 (check spam box).
• Hotel rooms available for the nights of 2/24, 2/25, and 2/26.
• When registering, attendees must select the check-in and check-out date on the registration form, and any additional needs for accommodation. You are responsible for communicating any changes to the dates you registered for.
• Upon check-in, attendees must provide a credit card upon arrival for incidentals.
• Attention: There are no block codes. If an attendee chooses to book a room directly with the hotel and not through this registration process, the attendee will assume responsibility for the full cost of the room at the hotel's standard rate.

EVENT COST   

• WSALPHO will cover registration and lodging and provide meals for LHJ attendees. You are responsible for covering your costs for travel, parking, additional meals, etc.

CANCELLATION POLICY

• If an attendee cancels within 48 hours of the scheduled arrival, the attendee will be billed for the cancellation fee and any applicable taxes. Should an attendee be a no-show for the reservation, the attendee will be billed for the full reservation cost and fees. According to the hotel policy, guest arrivals after 1:00 AM PST, the day after the scheduled check-in, are considered no-shows.
• Please note that modifications to reservations within 48 hours of arrival, which result in a shorter stay, are subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of each canceled night and taxes.

PARKING 

• Attendees are responsible for paying 100% of parking. Marriott are offering a discounted rate of $18.00 per a night.
